Am I eligible to become a partner?

We typically partner with commercial finance brokers, accountants and business advisors, to support their clients in finding the right credit solutions.

We also work with businesses that offer complimentary products or services to SMEs like procurement or utilities, helping them to provide extra services and increase revenue through our commission model.

What types of businesses can you support?

We support a broad range of businesses sectors, from construction to e-commerce platforms. As a general guide, our lending partners can support businesses that have been trading for more than 6 months that have an annual turnover of at least £25,000.

What kind of financing is available?

We are one of the UK’s largest credit marketplaces, working with over 120 lenders. Our team of Business Finance Specialists are on hand to help you and your client find the right solution. Types of funding we provide:

  • Business Loans (Unsecured & Secured)

  • Business credit cards

  • Invoice financing

  • Asset finance

  • Hire purchasing

  • Commercial Property financing

Funding Options doesn’t support equity funding.

Can you recommend a type of finance?

No, we don’t make recommendations, because we can’t give financial advice. Our service:

  1. Presents you with choices that match your clients business’s requirements.

  2. Shows you what they’re eligible for

We’ll still be there to give you information on every appropriate lender, explain how their products work, and clarify exactly what your client would be agreeing to.

How do I submit client applications?

Once you’re recognised as a referral partner, our Partner Portal lets you submit a client’s application within minutes.

There, you can submit and manage the application on their behalf, or invite them to complete it directly. We’ll ask for basic information regarding their business, and supporting documents like bank statements and filed accounts.

How long will it take to get finance?

From enquiry to approval, our record is 20 seconds. From enquiry to funds in the business's bank account - 18 minutes.

Most lenders will reply within 24 hours, and then a dedicated business finance specialist will keep things moving. Normally this will depend heavily on if you’ve got all the documentation ready, like your client’s bank statements for the last 6 months and their latest filed accounts. If you’re prepared, it’s possible to reach an agreement in a day or two.

Will you do a credit check?

We don’t credit-check your clients ourselves, but many of the lenders we work with will require this as a normal part of their application process.

It's important to ensure that you have your client’s consent for these checks prior to submitting them via our platform. We’ll then pass this permission to the lender, to speed up the application and make the process easier for you.

Your client won’t be credit-checked by a lender unless they’ve given their consent. Personal credit checks are highly regulated, and everyone has the right to have their personal data protected. Most of our lending partners use ‘soft checks’, which don’t leave a mark or impact the applicant’s credit file.

If you have more questions about giving us permission to search on your client’s behalf, or about how credit checks work, contact us at [email protected]

How much will the service cost me?

Nothing – it’s completely free and no-obligation. You can use our matching tool, look at your client’s options, or speak to one of our Business Finance Specialists without being charged. If your client decides to proceed with a product, our lending partners may charge their own arrangement fee, but this will be included in the loan offer and explained to your client.

How much can I earn and how will it be paid?

For any successfully funded clients that you introduce, we’ll pay you a percentage of the revenue we receive from our lending partners. Our Partnerships Team will share an overview of the scheme in more detail during your onboarding call.

Can you help startup businesses?

We strive to help as many UK businesses as possible, but startups can be tricky because they don’t have a track record or any assets to secure the lending against.

Some lenders won’t work with startups, but luckily, we work with over 120 finance providers, and there are often other ways of getting funding. For example, funding equipment directly with an equipment lease, instead of a general growth loan.

Through our partners, startup businesses can get loans up to £25,000 – and after a few months of trading they might be eligible to get other types of funding like asset finance and invoice finance.
