They're an eclectic mix — we have team members with experience from traditional finance, challenger banks and finance brokers, as well as graduates who've learned on the job. Technology and development is at the core of what we do. As well as taking care of the sophisticated and evolving matching application, the development team deliver the tools that the customer service and marketing teams need to do their jobs.
The tech team is a mixture of classically trained and self-taught, and that's the way we like it. Their approach to volatile requirements draws from DDD, agile and scrum methodology on a base of Python 3, Django and git — a tasty recipe that simply allows them to Get Sh*t Done.
They work on anything from the CRM system and partner APIs to mobile optimisation and user experience — they've even taught one of our marketers command line git.
In a crowded market, effective communications become even more important, so the marketing team work across a variety of channels in paid, earned and owned. Reactive, insight-driven and multidisciplinary, they work on PPC, SEO, PR and DM. When they run out of acronyms, they also keep themselves busy with customer acquisition, email marketing, web content and customer communications.
Like the rest of Funding Options, the marketing team is hard to sum up, but they certainly share a weird sense of humour and a diverse range of extracurricular activities.
There's always a lot going on at a fast-growing company, and our operations team make sure we're efficient and effective even on our busiest days. They have a positive effect on every area of the business, from improving the way we use systems and software to making sure we're always compliant with FCA regulations.
But perhaps most importantly of all, they make sure there's enough laptops, phones and caffeinated beverages to go around, so the whole company can focus on getting sh*t done.
